Our Essence

ReshaTara is an ode to India's handloom legacy. Born from centuries of living craft traditions, we bring handwoven creations to those who seek it. Not as a trend, but as a way of being. Every handpicked piece carries the weight of intention and the warmth of human hands. This space is for those who express themselves through the discerning edit, who find meaning in the made-by-hand and the time-honored.

WHERE IT BEGAN

Our Journey

Artisans at work

Because what we were seeking was never missing—only unseen.

A dream to take the rich, ancient artisanal craft to the aesthetes from around the world–and vice versa. A realisation that in the zest of commercialising craft, the honest art is getting lost. That the gap was never in craftsmanship, but in the connection. Extraordinary handwoven textiles still existed — rich in skill, heritage, and aesthetics — yet discovering them lacked intimacy and discernment.

Artisans at work

Women with an innate sense of art were left to choose between mass-produced luxury, without soul, and the heritage pieces, without thoughtful curation. Hence, ReshaTara was founded!

Our journey began in conversations, on the Loom, around the motifs, counting yarns, validating zari quality, and gauging the depth of dye. At ReshaTara, we have learned to say no with nuance, and to choose only those pieces that carry purity and evoke emotions.

When we sat with weavers, the truth became clearer. The gap wasn't only economic — it was aesthetic as well. The modern, globally aware woman could not always find the "Resha" in a form which aligned with her sensibility. She did not want loud opulence; she wanted depth. Not endless variety but discernment.

ReshaTara was born from that realisation. This is not a store. It is a point of view.

THE VISIONARY BEHIND RESHATARA

The Founder

I learned my first lessons in simplicity and strength from my mother. She never announced them, she lived them, with grace, resilience, and quiet dignity. From her, I understood that softness and strength coexist, and that presence need not be loud to be powerful.

This quiet strength sits at the heart of ReshaTara. A tribute to women like her, to the weavers who create beauty without spectacle, and to the aesthete who values depth, intention, and quiet discernment in what they choose.

I began my journey in textiles at NIFT, where I studied textile design and discovered the language of fabric, weave, and texture. I then stepped away to pursue a different path in the corporate world, where I spent two fulfilling decades, while my connection to textiles remained like an unfinished chapter that quietly stayed with me.

In a world of machine-made abundance, I was drawn to something more human, slight irregularities, the warmth of the hand, and the honesty of making. That longing became ReshaTara.

ReshaTara is my humble effort to thoughtfully bring together meaningful weaves and honest craftsmanship, pieces chosen with care and aligned with refined sensibilities and a quiet sense of self.

I hope you find something here that feels truly your own.
